One of the hardest situations I ever had to deal with was leaving a church I knew was no longer a good fit for me or my family.

Correction (3) of the hardest situations I ever dealt with …lol

Yes, it served its purpose to usher me into a new level

Yes, it served its purpose to even help me walk IN purpose.

Yes, I even thought I might stay there forever.

Yet, God had different plans.

God knew what He was doing and allowing.

God still knows.

And though I knew it might be a challenging transition, I never anticipated the malicious nor manipulative behavior that I would encounter from a “Church Leader”

It never dawned on me that after serving so well in time, talent and yes, with my seed, that almost instantly I would be seen and treated as an enemy.

Nope, that didn’t compute with me.

Sidebar: Because I experienced this (3) times in ministry as an adult, I also believe that is why, as the SENIOR LEADER I try to go out of my way to BLESS those who choose to leave my global ministry and/or church.

Nope, I may not agree.

Yes, I may think they are leaving too early.

Nope, I may have never even anticipated they would leave at all.

Nevertheless, if they attempt to leave right with a conversation and then a letter, and if they have been heavily involved in operations or even working close with me, I do my best to get them to at least allow me to bless them openly and send them off properly.

Yet, I can probably count on (1) hand those who allowed this to happen.

IF they didn’t, typically they were offended and I didn’t know it.

Or they just didn’t care, as much as I thought.

But my bottomline always is, never debate what they think or believe God said about their transition.

IF they request insight, I’ll give it.

If God is specifically telling me to have them consider a true EXIT PLAN, of course I’ll even bring that up.

But one thing I will not do: I will NOT launch a smear campaign, BLEED on the congregation or allow it to cause me to "act outside of my character"

I’ve been the recipient of the vileness and no matter what the leader thought they were interpreting and speculating and disseminating, what I knew for sure is that it was false, foolish and NOT OF GOD.

Yet, the other things I know for sure when it’s time to move from one prophetic assignment to the next.

It’s difficult for any leader to “lose” a great skilled team-member, whether paid or voluntary.

One of the hardest things for most LEADERS to deal with is someone leaving after you’ve poured into their purpose in more ways than one.

It’s difficult for most leaders to properly verbalize what they are feeling, when it’s time for some to transition out to make room for the new to transition in.

Yet, at the moment you start feeling FALSELY OBLIGATED to stick and stay a place you are undervalued, under utilized, and routinely encouraged to endure drama and trauma, in the midst of a toxic environment, you have probably overstayed your assignment.

Yep, prophets are sent to people, places, spaces and territories on assignments.

Sooner or later, God will reveal whether or not the assignment will continue as is, whether or not change has to take place and what that change will look like.

The question most times is: Is God providing a way of escape or is it a situation where you have to wipe the dust off your feet and flee according to God’s word.

During transitions like this, you will learn how to TRUST God above your circumstance and you will learn what Breakthrough Obedience really is.

Because lastly, what I know for sure is on the other side of BREAKTHROUGH OBEDIENCE is THE BREAKTHROUGH you’ve been waiting for where you will now proclaim: NO MORE DOUBT, NO MORE DECEPTION and NO MORE DISCORD.

I remember how tough it was when I knew God told me to “go” but my leader or others thought I should stay.

Whew!

Now, what I know for sure is CHANGE HURTS, even when it’s a good thing.

Especially after you’ve had to deal with some traumatic hurt.

Not to mention dealing with hurt in the midst of your TRANSITION.
